Join Informit for a discovery session on teaching with video and screen texts, and be among the first to experience our new platform for video-based learning, Explore Media.
Date: Thursday 7 May, 5.00pm AEST
Location: RMIT, Building 16, 336/348 Swanston St, Melbourne VIC 3000
This session explores practical approaches to using film, television, news archives and documentary content to support screen literacy, deepen understanding, and enhance student engagement. Throughout the session, these approaches will be demonstrated using Explore Media, Informit’s curated educational streaming platform, delivering high-quality documentaries, films, television series, news archives, and screen education resources.
As part of this event, attendees will:
- Hear how Explore Media complements Informit Explore to create a complete learning ecosystem
- See a walkthrough of key features and classroom-ready resources
- Learn how the platform supports inquiry, analysis, and curriculum outcomes
You’ll also hear from a practicing teacher in collaboration with Australian Teachers of Media, who will share a classroom-based example of how video can be embedded into a lesson or unit to support student learning.
Whether you’re a teacher, librarian, or curriculum leader, this session will provide practical ideas you can take directly into your classroom, alongside an introduction to tools that support video-based learning.
Join us for celebratory drinks following the session and connect with fellow teachers, librarians, and education professionals.
