Kummargii Yulendji Symposium 2026

September 15 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Informit and CAVAL are again partnering with Social Sciences Week to convene Kummargii Yulendji Symposium, focusing on how we describe, apply and amplify First Peoples’ Knowledges and publications.

Following the enthusiasm shown by libraries, academic and publishing representatives for successful events since 2023, we look forward to hosting the Symposium this year.

Informit and CAVAL consider Kummargii Yulendji Symposium to be a forum for the ongoing movement that is Indigenising the academic libraries and publishing sector, propelled by the highly motivated communities in this space. In previous years we have had presenters discuss important initiatives such as projects on reparative description, referencing, educational resources curation, and metadata processes to revise, reframe and reckon with colonial systems, and embed and support First Peoples’ Knowledges and academic outputs.
